Laboratory Technician – Nutrition – Cambridge

The Role

Part of the laboratory team, working with members of the laboratory ensuring that the testing of nutrition samples received from clients are carried out in a timely manner.  Responsible for the daily operation of the assigned testing and equipment.

Your duties:

  • Ensure that the procedures meeting the requirements of any relevant accreditation standards (e.g. ISO17025/MCERTS) and/or regulatory compliance standards (e.g. GLP/ISA/TLAS)
  • Cook and blend samples
  • Carry out chemistry tests according to relevant SOPs
  • Calibrating, monitoring, maintaining relevant equipment & instruments
  • Organising own work to keep up the schedule and meet deadlines
  • Organising relevant reagents and consumables to ensure enough stock to carry out the tests
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork (hard copy & electronic) completed
  • Understand responsibilities with regards to Health and Safety and agree to comply with the requirements of Health & Safety policy
  • Any other duties specific to the Laboratory or Division where the position is held

Working Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm or 8.30am – 5pm
  • Flexibility outside of these hours will be required at busy times – occasional weekend working required
  • 20 days holiday + 8 public holidays
