SAL Annual Golf Day Goes Down a Storm

Yesterday was possibly one of the wettest days of the year, and, as it happens, was also SAL’s annual golf day. For the fourth year running, Duncan Campbell, Commercial Director for SAL’s air division, arranged for 40 of SAL’s clients to have a jam packed day of friendly, competitive golfing, glorious food and networking (and a bit of drink on the side..).

Hosted for the fourth year in a row at the highly rated Cookridge Hall in Leeds, SAL welcomed their nearest and dearest clients from across a range of sectors to come enjoy a rainy day of golf. Despite the weather being ‘the worst’ he’d ‘ever had to play golf in’, Duncan says that spirits still remained high throughout the day (probably something to do with Whiskey being the first prize).

poor chaps…

With brollies at the ready and a hearty breakfast in everyone’s stomachs, the day was kicked off with an individual tournament of 9 holes in the morning. With clients from just under 20 companies taking part, there were three lucky and rather wet winners. Although winner names are yet to be revealed, the first prize is a bottle of Whisky and a Golfing T shirt – something to keep them dry and warm for next year’s downpour.

After taking shelter and enjoying a few sarnies at midday, the sun decided to sheepishly show his face. With the afternoon being a lot dryer and even sunny at times, the golfers went out in company teams to compete for the ultimate first prize (being the best) – and another bottle of whiskey. (Runner up prizes follow suit – bottle of gin, bottle of wine…). All the teams were said to have played really well, but there were three that stood out in particular, who again, will be named in our follow up post next week.

more rain…

Congratulations to all clients and staff – we at SAL had a brilliant time and look forward to next year’s event. Remember, it’s the winning that counts, not the taking part.
